MIDI Score App Reviews

Instruments

Instead of just guitar, piano and flute, you should just make the songs play in their original instruments.

Its ok

Its an ok player, but if you try to play anything really complicated like Circus Galop, it will choke due to the amount of notes being handled. Synesthesia is much better suited for playing complex music.

Tried it

Terrible! No chord info only treble cleff, no key info etc. from the results I got not accurate either. Woul be more use & impressive if it had more detail.

Thank you

This app is really useful and easy to work with.

Fine for self-taught musicians

The App. works fine; it is useful to study a musical score

Nice for simple midi list of songs

It simply finds, lists and plays midi files with a slightly custom google search. It seems simple and starts to an instruction / tutorial page. It could use some simple list additions like ability to sort songs by title, or move them in the list.

too soon

It has beautiful UI. I believe it has been released too soon. It only has treble clef; no bass nor grand clef.. Bass notes are depicted misplacedly and as x notes. you can not scroll pages. It can only handle playing from beginning of a song. No multitrack view. No edit function. Long way to go Dev.

Cool~

its really work!! so helpful.

Cool

Really nice app

Does SQUAT

opened app, there is now way to add midi files to test it out other than 1 song included.. You have to upgrade to do anything else... Weak!

It doesnt get better than this!

I cannot say enough good about this app. I have been wanting this for years. Loads MIDI files from both Email attachments and web downloads. Just tap OPEN AS and choose Playbook +. Loads the score and if your MIDI file has them the words as well. Get the full version NOW before the cost goes beyond the paltry charge ! Well worth the upgrade. Get it now before the cost goes up.

Songbook +. Ver. 1.2.7 Pro

Bought the "Pro" version & havent used it for long, but it seems to function as described & Im quite pleased! Importing the midi files from email was seamless and very easy. Words come in also, if they are included in the midi file! Shows treble or bass clef or both. Very simple to transpose to a different key. Only has flute, piano or guitar instruments to play the music, but theyre OK to practice with. All said, Im very pleased with the App especially since Apple didnt have ANY means to play a midi file!!! My kudos to the developer--nice job on a handy & useful App!

Good conversion midi to sheet music

It is very interesting to see all my favorite midis come to life so I may play them with the sheet music. I like how simple it is, and the way it separates each layer of music. It crashes, a lot. I am not sure if it does so in the Pro because I am apprehensive to spend the money just to have it crash every time I upload a song, fix the title, or change layers.

A Great App for Musicians

I love this app! Im giving it 5 stars - even though it may not be absolutely perfect, or even have every feature I would like to have. Ill start with what I really like about the app: First, it plays midis really well with the appropriately selected instrument. I love how well a job it does with the sheet music creation, and the chord finder. I like being able to adjust the notation key independent of the key the song is playing in, which I imagine will be very handy for those who want to play with a capo. The app does an excellent job of exporting your final creation in PDF. I did not export as a Midi, but I would imagine that it would do that just as well. I like being able to create with the treble, bass clef or both. I liked the ability to adjust the guitar octave for the right sound. And I love to be able to adjust playback speed for practicing a new song. Now for the cons: I would like to set defaults in either Ipad Settings, or in the Apps setup; it was a little annoying to have to readjust everything to, in my case, guitar every time I downloaded a new Midi. Not a big deal, but it would be more convenient. The App did crash a couple times while I transposed keys a couple times, but came right back and reloaded the song I had been working with, when I restarted it. I also found the guitar fretboard to be way too busy. With the same not being played across 12 or so frets at the same time just isnt very helpful to me. I would like to just have the 1st position or 1st 4 frets of the fingerboard displayed and the notes and chords displayed there. Any accomplished guitarist will know where else he can play those notes. All in all, I love this program and have stopped looking for another one. I use it to download country and rock midis and this program enables me to play the licks in the original recordings in a key that is suitable for me, without wasting a lot of time figuring it out on my own. I love it!

Great idea - VERY UNSTABLE

This is a great idea - an app that creates sheet music from Midi files. However, in reality, this app crashes. All. The. Time. So far Ive uploaded about 10 songs to it. All Ive been doing is listening to a few of them and fixing the names. Yet, the app has crashed during the uploading process repeatedly - after every couple uploads (from my email). Once the songs are in the app and I begin editing the names while listening to them, again, after every couple of songs the app crashes. I didnt *really* need the sheet music aspect of this app! but it intrigued me and seemed useful. However, it is NOT useful when the app repeatedly crashes regardless of whether I need the sheet music or not. I cant even play the songs without crashes. Great idea - BAD execution.

This is the best Example of Perfection.

I absolutely love this! It works so well for all my flute music. Hehehe! Thank you for creating this glorious thing. You are a blessing to the human race. •w•

Best Midi Viewer On iPhone

You can look input your own songs and listen <3 Thanks I love this app.

Useful App

What happen. With the new updates. Now it crashes on my iPhone6 Plus.

Very good app for musicians

The amount of use that I have gotten out of this app is ridiculous. I like to find midis of songs then use the guitar fretboard setting to write tabs when I dont feel like figuring out or counting the staff to find note names. It has a built in guitar fret board and piano to show all the different ways to play the midi you choose. This app is worth far more then what you pay. I would buy an iPhone just for this app. Update: I would pay 5$ for a feature that lets me view/print a guitar tab translation from the current midi. It would save soooo much time. As it is now I use this app primarily for the fretboard that allows you to get somewhat of a tab. But for faster pace songs it gets annoying to try and rewind and watch. And if you pause the highlighted frets disappear. Maybe you could make another app that just allows midi translation to guitar/piano tab (preferably one that can be sent as a PDF or printed) as someone who just cant grasp how scales or music theory works this would be amazing/ an instant buy. It might be a small niche of guitar players that would need it but who knows maybe name it something guitar midi magic or something click batey and add pictures of hot girls playing guitars. That might help it sell at the cost of your dignity. /s

Must Have

This is probably one of the best things I could ever find for playing music. I can easily upload MIDI files onto it and easily play piano and even hear it played! This app is awesome and Im glad I found it. Only problem is that the first note isnt heard when its played. But its still an amazing app!
